2. About this website

The website does not require any account and does not sell anything.
3. Personal data collected
3.1 Contact form
When you submit the contact form, the following data is collected:
- your name;
- your email address;
- the content of your message.
- Purpose: answering your request and, where applicable, discussing a collaboration.
- Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract and the publisher's legitimate interest in answering messages sent to him (GDPR, art. 6.1.b and 6.1.f).
- Recipient: Benjamin Dexant only. Your message is delivered to his mailbox by email through the Gmail service (see section 5). The website has no database and stores nothing on its own servers.
- Retention: for the duration of our exchanges, and at most three years after our last contact. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see section 8).
3.2 Technical data
Like any website, the hosting provider (Vercel) records technical request logs such as your IP address, browser type and requested pages. This data is used solely to keep the service secure and available, and is retained according to Vercel's own retention policy. The publisher does not use it to identify or profile visitors.
The website has no user accounts, no newsletter and no advertising.
4. Cookies and trackers
This website does not set any cookies. It does not use any audience measurement tool, advertising tracker, social media button or third-party script. The font is self-hosted, so no request is sent to Google Fonts.
The only information stored on your device is your language preference (English or French), saved in your browser's localStorage under the key portfolio-locale when you use the language switcher. This storage is strictly necessary to remember a choice you made and is therefore exempt from consent under the guidelines of the CNIL (French data protection authority). That is why no cookie banner is displayed.
You can delete this preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data for www.benjamindexant.dev.
5. Use of Google services and Google user data
The contact form of Benjamin Dexant uses Gmail, a Google service, to deliver messages. Access is granted through Google OAuth 2.0 with the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send, on the publisher's own Google account only.
- What Google user data is accessed: only the publisher's own Gmail account, for the sole purpose of sending email. The website never requests access to a visitor's Google account. It does not read, store or process any visitor's emails, contacts, calendar or profile.
- How it is used: exclusively to send, from the publisher's Gmail address to that same address, the messages submitted through the contact form. No other Gmail feature is used.
- Sharing: Google user data is never shared, transferred, sold or disclosed to any third party, and is never used for advertising, market research, credit assessment, or training of artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Protection: the OAuth credentials are stored as encrypted environment variables on the hosting provider, are never exposed to the browser, and all exchanges with Google take place over TLS.
- Retention and deletion: the authorization is kept for as long as the contact form is in service. The publisher can revoke it at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately terminates all access.
The use of information received from Google APIs by Benjamin Dexant adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Processors and international transfers
- Vercel Inc. (United States) — hosting of the website and processing of technical logs.
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC — delivery of contact form messages through Gmail.
These providers may process data outside the European Union. Such transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Security
The website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated on the server before being sent. Secrets are kept in environment variables and never committed to source code. Because no personal data is stored by the website itself, the attack surface is kept to a minimum.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, write to benjamindexant.developpement@gmail.com. A reply will be sent within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL: www.cnil.fr.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website or in applicable law. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be announced on this page.
